Murder – Generally
Result: Not Guilty of First and Third Degree, guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter:

Defendant was charged with Murder — Generally and Possession of an Instrument of Crime
following a shooting at a convenient mart on video.
Victim encountered Defendant inside the convenient mart and following a verbal exchange
swung at the Defendant who then pulled his firearm and shot the victim several times. The
victim died on the scene.
Following trial, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty of Murder in the First Degree as well
as Murder in the Third Degree. Defendant was found guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter and
Aggravated Assault.

Attempted Murder
Result: Not Guilty of Attempted Murder, guilty of Aggravated Assault.

Court: Lycoming County, PA
Defendant was charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault for allegedly
striking a victim with a hammer 8 times. The incident was video recorded. The video
depicted the victim and the Defendant’s wife having an argument. The Defendant
attempted to intervene and resolve the issue. There was no audio to the recording.
Subsequently, Defendant struck the victim with a hammer causing injuries resulting in the
victim being taken to the hospital and being treated for head injuries. The jury deliberated
and returned a verdict of not guilty on Attempted Murder and guilty on Aggravated Assault
and related offenses.

Aggravated Assault
Result: Not Guilty on all Counts

Court: Clinton County, PA
Client was accused of physically assaulting another person and threatening them with a knife
inside of a vehicle. Following extensive cross-examination of the alleged victim and several
witnesses, the jury returned a not guilty verdict in less than fifteen minutes.

Unlawful Arrest and Detention of Juvenile for Alleged Shooting
Result: Motion to Suppress Granted and case dismissed
Date: September 2024
Court: Lycoming County Juvenile Court
Following a shooting in the west end, police executed a search warrant of client’s home and
arrested client on firearms/shooting charges. Following a review of the evidence, including
surveillance footage and the search warrant, pre-trial motions were filed and litigated. The Court
agreed with counsel that the police did not have probable cause to enter the juvenile’s home, and
important and necessary information was omitted from the search warrant application. The
charges were dismissed and the juvenile was removed from detention.
